Level: 5 – 12 years’ experience (class year to be determined)
Description: A lawyer with experience working for hospitality industry clients on asset acquisition and disposition, financing, and management contracts.  Strong academic credentials and legal skills required. Experience as part of a top notch hospitality practice with high profile deals and clients preferred.

Description: The Orange County office of Allen Matkins is seeking a mid to senior-level real estate associate. The ideal candidate will have 4 – 8 years of experience related to a broad range of real estate transactions including but not limited to leasing, purchase and sale, and/or development. This is an opportunity to work with some of the most highly regarded real estate lawyers in California on highly sophisticated matters. Candidates should have a strong academic record from a respected law school, as well as excellent references. Strong verbal and written communications skills and a commitment to excellence are also required.

Level: 2 – 3 years of experience (class to be determined)
Description: Allen Matkins is seeking an associate with commercial litigation experience, including creditors’ rights/remedies (secured creditor preference), receivership, bankruptcy and commercial landlord/tenant matters to work in either our downtown Los Angeles or San Francisco offices. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience at a major law firm, a strong academic record from a respected law school, and strong verbal and written communications skills. Must be licensed to practice in California.

Description: The Century City office of Allen Matkins is seeking a real estate associate with the appropriate level of transactional experience, working on a broad range of real estate transactions including but not limited to leasing, purchase and sale, and development.  High level of academic achievement and major law firm experience required.

Office: San Francisco
Level: 3 – 5 years of experience (class year to be determined)
Description:  The San Francisco office of Allen Matkins is seeking an associate to join its growing securities and corporate governance litigation practice.  The ideal candidate will have substantive experience in at least two of the following areas:  securities litigation, shareholder class actions, shareholder derivative actions, corporate governance, or representing boards or committees in internal investigations.  Federal court experience is necessary, and previous experience with litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery is a plus.  The ideal candidate would have major law firm experience, a strong academic record from a highly-respected law school, strong legal research and writing skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit.  If not licensed to practice in California, candidate must sit for the next bar exam.

Description: Seeking a 2 – 3 year employment law associate to join a dynamic practice with challenging work and high profile national clients. The ideal candidate will have major law firm experience in employment law, a strong academic background from a top law school, and excellent brief writing, analytical, and litigation skills, including in depositions and substantive motion practice.  Experience with employment advisory matters is preferred.

Office: San Francisco
Level: 2 – 4 years
Description: Seeking a junior-level associate to work on a full spectrum of land use and natural resource law issues, including litigation.

Key elements of the work may include:

  • Entitlements – due diligence, project development, public hearings
  • CEQA/NEPA, Planning and Zoning Law, Subdivision Map Act
  • Natural resources – wetlands, endangered species, coastal, historic preservation, and other related state and federal requirements
  • Litigation related to the above

While the candidate will not be expected to arrive with equal depth across all of the above areas, the work can be expected to require some familiarity with all of these areas and a willingness to develop core competency in all of these areas quickly.

The associate will work primarily with attorneys in our San Francisco office, but also will work periodically with attorneys in our four Southern California offices. Occasional travel is expected.

A high level of academic achievement and major law firm experience are required. Must be licensed to practice in CA.
