Biography

Hina Gupta is an associate in the San Diego office of Allen Matkins where her practice involves a variety of land use and environmental matters. Her practice focuses on land use entitlements, local planning and zoning laws, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), local government issues, initiatives and referenda, and environmental issues. Hina has assisted clients with land use entitlements and CEQA compliance for mixed use projects, office buildings/office parks, residential developments, self-storage facilities and industrial warehouse facilities. She has also assisted clients with renewable energy siting and permitting issues.

Before she began her career as an attorney, Hina worked as a city planning and environmental planning consultant (advising on CEQA and National Environmental Quality Act compliance) in Southern California region.

Education

Hina received her Bachelor of Planning degree, first class with distinction, from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi, and her Master of Planning degree from University of Southern California. She received her juris doctorate, with honors, from The George Washington University Law School where she was the managing editor of the Journal of Energy and Environmental Law. During law school, Hina also serviced as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jay C. Gandhi in the United States District Court in Los Angeles.
