Biography

Lawrence D. Lewis is a partner in our Orange County office whose practice focuses on business and commercial litigation with primary focus on real estate and securities litigation. His clients include developers, directors of Fortune 100 companies, institutional lenders, mortgage companies, title companies, investment service firms and pharmaceutical distributors.

With more than 40 years as a litigator, Larry offers his clients extensive experience and skill in a broad range of matters, including business torts, construction defects, partnership disputes, real estate transactions, securities litigation and general business. Larry has also handled matters regarding legal malpractice, abuse of process, malicious prosecution, rules of professional conduct, conflicts of interest and breach of fiduciary duty. Most recently, Larry has spent the past three years engaged in some of the most hotly-contested securities litigation in the country in courts ranging from California state court to federal court to the Delaware Supreme Court and the Delaware Court of Chancery. This litigation has led to multiple published decisions.

Prior to joining Allen Matkins, Larry was a partner in the law firm of Musick, Peeler & Garrett in Los Angeles, where his practice focused on antitrust and securities litigation and defense of legal malpractice suits.

Education

Larry obtained his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1968 where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and his J.D. from University of California, Berkeley, School of Law at Boalt Hall, in 1972.
