Biography

Nancy Grant Waters is a senior counsel in the Los Angeles office, whose real estate practice focuses on dispositions and acquisitions, financing, and leasing. She has represented developers and investors in their acquisition and disposition of a wide array of properties, including office projects, development parcels, hotels, multi-property portfolios, and residential and industrial properties. Nancy was the lead associate representing Lincoln Property Company and ASB Capital Management in the sale of Phase I of Horizon at Playa Vista, a project wholly leased by Fox Interactive Media, and one of the largest real estate transactions in California in 2011. She has also represented institutional lenders and pension funds in a variety of real estate financings, including acquisition financing and loan assumptions. Additionally, Nancy's leasing experience includes drafting and negotiating office leases, industrial leases and storage leases for properties throughout California, Washington and Arizona. She represented a nationally recognized landlord in new leases, expansions and other amendments in connection with more than 1.7 million square feet of office and industrial space in Southern California and Arizona.

Education

Nancy received her B.A., cum laude, and Phi Beta Kappa, in English literature from the University of California, Los Angeles. She minored in Spanish and studied abroad at the University of Seville in Seville, Spain. After graduating from UCLA, Nancy taught English at Colegio Maria Alvarado in Lima, Peru. She received her J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law. During law school, Nancy was a law clerk in the Finance Division of the Office of General Counsel for the United States Small Business Administration in Washington, D.C. She was also a member of Street Law Society, where she taught legal awareness to at-risk students in the Crenshaw District of Los Angeles.
