Derek G. Weisbender is an associate in the firm's Orange County office, where he is a member of the Real Estate Department. He focuses his practice on commercial and residential real estate transactions, with a particular emphasis on purchase and sale, leasing, construction, finance, and development.
Derek's knowledge of real estate transactions is bolstered by his years of experience in complex real estate litigation where he represented national developers, title companies, private clients, brokers and salespersons, mortgage lenders, national and regional banks, and other businesses and individuals in state and federal courts.
Further, Derek is a licensed California Real Estate Broker, and advises buyers, sellers, brokers, and salespersons on high-value residential transactions, including on matters of title, title insurance, disclosures, contract disputes, and other deal impediments.

Derek received his B.A., cum laude, in psychology and political science from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he was admitted to the Order of the Coif and served as an Executive Editor of the San Diego Law Review. While in law school, Derek received awards for his legal research and writing, and mentored first-year law students. Derek also studied at Bond University in Australia, and the University of Oxford in England.
