Michael Cerrina is a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office where his practice concentrates on general real estate development, finance, acquisitions and sales. Mike's practice includes an emphasis in single asset and portfolio acquisitions and dispositions and all forms of construction and permanent real estate financing. As lead counsel for a major pension fund adviser, Mike has had extensive exposure to all facets of development including office, industrial, multi-family and hospitality. In addition, as lead counsel for a major company involved in portfolio acquisitions, Mike has extensive expertise in loan workouts, partnership restructuring, judicial and non-judicial foreclosure activities and additional collateral matters including guarantees, letters of credit and other mixed collateral issues. Mike's lead counsel role for investment advisers on portfolio acquisitions includes multi-asset and multi-state portfolios, involving real property performing loans, non-performing loans and REO properties involving and requiring the coordination of several law firms and loan servicing agents. Mike has played a key role in the acquisition and disposition of several major office buildings, industrial parks, retail centers, multi-family complexes and hotels across the United States.

Mike's real estate practice also centers on owners and developers, for whom he handles matters regarding asset management, including management strategies and documentation for office, retail, industrial, and residential development projects. Mike's work includes the consummation of project-related contracts, including building and property management agreements, broker listing and registration agreements, and other development-related agreements.

Additionally, Mike represents borrowers and lenders in all forms of real estate financing, including conventional permanent and construction loans, mezzanine financing, securitized and CMBS loans, loan workouts and restructuring, judicial and non judicial foreclosures, deed in lieu transactions, and additional collateral matters, including guarantees, letters of credit and other mixed collateral issues. His practice further emphasizes loan acquisitions and sales on both single-loan and multi asset portfolio bases.

A graduate of the University of Southern California in 1979 with a B.S., cum laude, in business administration, Mike earned his J.D., with honors, from Loyola Law School in 1982.
