Courtney is a driven, client-focused lawyer, who represents businesses in a variety of real estate matters, including office and retail leasing, licensing agreements, and purchase and sale agreements.
She enjoys working on sophisticated transactions, integrating complex deal terms into a lease or other contract and guiding her clients through the legal process. Courtney is particularly skilled at negotiating with opposing counsel on complicated matters, and protecting her client’s best interests. Her recent transactional work has included negotiating and redrafting a complicated billboard license agreement that fit her client’s unique situation, which included the rights of the city to display material on the billboard sign. She also recently drafted a complex option agreement for a tenant in connection with its lease.
Courtney decided to pursue a career in the legal profession while she was volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), advocating for children in the dependency court. Her ambitious nature allowed her to complete a four-year law school program while working in a full-time sales position, where she was also responsible for training sales representatives.
While in law school, Courtney served as an editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, and she is a member of the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society. She was also awarded membership to the Alpha Sigma Nu national honor society.
