Patrick A. Perry is a partner in our Los Angeles office. Patrick's practice focuses primarily on real estate, land use, environmental, natural resources and energy law. He has extensive experience in obtaining zoning and other development approvals, including general plan amendments, specific plans, zone changes, variances, conditional use permits, subdivisions and development agreements. In conducting numerous entitlement due diligence reviews, Patrick has advised buyers, sellers and lenders in connection with the purchase, sale and development of office and industrial buildings, shopping centers, hotels, residential and mixed use projects.

Patrick has extensive knowledge and experience regarding compliance with the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), as well as a wide range of experience addressing issues related to the state and federal Endangered Species Acts, the state and federal Clean Water Acts, the National Historic Preservation Act, state and federal prevailing wage statutes and regulations, and other federal, state, and local statutory and regulatory requirements. He has appeared before or worked closely with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the California Coastal Commission, the South Coast Air Quality Management District, the California Department of Industrial Relations, the California State Historic Preservation Officer, and multiple local government agencies throughout California. Such work has involved compliance with multi-species habitat conservation plans, Section 404 wetland permits, Section 401 water quality certifications, Section 1602 streambed alteration agreements, Section 10 take permits, Section 2081 take agreements, and other statutes and ordinances, including the Subdivision Map Act, the California Coastal Act, and the Mills Act. Patrick has also represented numerous property owners and developers in connection with lawsuits challenging government approvals or in connection with lawsuits against government interference with private property rights.

Patrick has represented a number of major corporations and entities, including Aeroterm, Art Center College of Design, Azusa Land Partners, Azusa Pacific University, Beacon Capital Partners, Bond Capital, the Chadmar Group, Cornishe of Bighorn, Del Mar Station LLC, Extended Stay America, Fuller Theological Seminary, IKEA, International Cargo Equipment Company, Lafayette Consulting, Lennar Communities, Lodgeworks, L.P., Mattel, Morgan Stanley, RAD Management, the Sares Regis Group, Schomac Group, Tishman Speyer Properties, Tesoro Viejo, Inc., Touchstone Television Productions, TrizecHahn Development, Urban Partners LLC, and the Walt Disney Company.

In addition to being an attorney, Patrick is a licensed architect in the State of California, where he practiced architecture for several years prior to joining the legal profession. He is a LEED-AP.

Patrick received his B.A. from Williams College, his M.A. in architecture at the University of Texas, Austin, and his J.D. from Loyola Law School.
