It is very important for new projects to determine upfront if there is adequate water supply for the project. Traditional sources of potable water include surface water from rivers and streams and groundwater. Those supplies can no longer meet the demand so new technologies that enable water to be reused have developed: treatment of wastewater water and desalination of ocean water or saline groundwater for potable use and use of grey water or storm water for irrigation. While innovations in reusable water are on their way to being true resources for developers, the key so far is to do a thorough examination of the water supply before you commit to a project.
