The Daily Transcript (July 17, 2020) Work on a controversial 20-story multifamily project adjacent to St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in Bankers Hill can continue as planned, following a ruling by San Diego County Superior Court Judge Gregory Pollack. The project, being developed by Greystar at the corner of Sixth Avenue & Olive Street, will feature 204 residential dwelling units — 18 of which will be affordable for very-low income households; 16,190 square feet of office space to serve St. Paul's; a 10,600-square-foot courtyard; and five levels of underground parking. Greystar acquired the land from St. Paul's for an undisclosed amount in May of last year. The 6th & Olive project was unanimously approved by San Diego City Council in January 2019. San Diego attorney Heather Riley, who represents Greystar, said opponents of the 6th & Olive project have until Sept. 8 to appeal the ruling, which was finalized earlier this month. Greystar, which was named as a real party of interest in the lawsuit, is being represented by Riley and Jeffrey Chine, who are partners with Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP. Jana Will, in the San Diego city attorney's office, worked with Riley to defend the city's approvals. Read More (subscription required)
