Allen Matkins partner, David Blackwell, was recently quoted in East Bay Times regarding a proposal for a significant development in Menlo Park, which includes three towering buildings, offices, retail space, and a hotel on the former Sunset Magazine site. The project, led by Willow Project LLC, aims to construct 805 residential units, 300,000 square feet of offices, 15,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, and a 162-room hotel. The development, which employs the "builder's remedy" approach, is subject to city approval and could bring substantial changes to the area. David Blackwell stated that the project should be considered in a streamlined fashion because 20% of the 800-plus units in the project would be affordable residences.
