Environmental Permitting and Regulatory Compliance

Natural Resources

We help clients navigate the complex regulatory maze and other public approvals related to the wetlands and endangered species protection and coastal development, as well as a multitude of local land use and planning requirements, and to prepare, advise on, defend (and where appropriate) challenge documents prepared to comply with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the federal National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA).

Our experience includes working with sensitive areas such as coastal zones, projects for which natural resources issues are community hot-button issues (such as sites with Native American resources), projects that are complex or controversial, and projects for which cost control and scheduling are high priorities.

"Excellent combination of environmental and legal knowledge."

We represent landowners, developers, resource users and public agencies in the planning and development of projects throughout California on issues related to:

  • The California Endangered Species Act and Federal Endangered Species Act
  • Habitat Conservation Plans
  • Section 7 consultations
  • Incidental Take Permits
  • Critical habitat designations and proposed listings
  • Unlawful “take” enforcement actions
