Shannon has a highly sophisticated real estate practice, representing buyers and sellers in structuring, negotiating, and executing commercial real estate purchase and sale transactions for office, retail, multifamily, mixed-use, and industrial properties across the country. Her experience, technical proficiency, and ability to navigate highly nuanced and complex matters, including those involving unique asset types, are the cornerstone of her multifaceted practice.
Shannon’s ability to understand each client’s business needs, objectives and risk tolerance allow her to provide highly strategic counsel. She is particularly adept at managing transactions related to ongoing or recently completed construction, environmental contamination and multi-building portfolios, including those with varying asset types. Shannon’s work also includes representing both landlords and tenants in office, industrial, retail, and billboard leases, including full-building leases, ground leases, and build-to-suit leases.
Clients rely on Shannon’s attention to detail and ability to assess risk and negotiate the resolution of all diligence related concerns. Her comprehensive understanding of the real estate space allows her to counsel clients on business points and market conditions, and to structure the most advantageous transactions on her clients’ behalf. Shannon is particularly skilled at assessing and addressing real risks to mitigate her clients’ economic exposure after a transaction closes.
Shannon has managed the purchase and sale of several billion dollars of real estate in markets across the country, a testament to her business acumen and understanding of highly intricate, unconventional, and complicated deals. She shares her knowledge of sophisticated real estate deals in myriad ways and has been published in Law360’s expert analysis publication and GlobeSt. She has also been invited to lecture at the Pepperdine University Business School annually on purchase and sale negotiations, she moderated the Office Investment, Development & Leasing panel at the Real Estate Women’s Forum National 2022 Conference, and she has given presentations to the nation’s top brokerages on lease negotiation tactics.
