SAN DIEGO – December 11, 2014 – The attorneys and staff at Allen Matkins, a California-based full service real estate and business law firm, congratulate land use and environmental attorney Heather Riley for being sworn in to the position of President-Elect of the San Diego County Bar Association (SDCBA) for 2015 on December 5, 2014. She will serve as President in 2016 and then as Immediate Past President in 2017.

Heather is senior counsel in Allen Matkins' San Diego office, where her practice involves a variety of land use and environmental matters, with a particular emphasis on writ litigation. She has extensive experience with the California Environmental Quality Act, and has defended numerous private and public clients in land use and environmental litigation. She was elected to the SDCBA's Board of Directors in 2013 and co-chairs the Board's Section and Committee Council and Court Funding Action Committee.
In addition to her successful legal career, Heather dedicates her time to a variety of local community groups, including Rachel's Women's Center, a local non-profit that assists homeless and underserved women in San Diego; Run Women Run, which supports, trains and mentors pro-choice women in elected or appointed political positions; and the Allen Matkins Community Outreach Committee. She also has been a guest lecturer at San Diego State University on environmental and land use matters and serves as a mentor in the Building Industry Association's (BIA) Young Generation of Leaders (yGen) counsel.
