“Mike Matkins is an extraordinary leader – in the truest sense of the word,” said Lewis C. Horne, President of the Southern California and Hawaii Division for CBRE and Chair of the MS Society's 42nd Annual Dinner of Champions. “His integrity permeates everyone in his firm of 200 lawyers, and he has significantly impacted the real estate footprint in our city.”
Allen Matkins is honored to have Mike's leadership and contributions -- both to the law firm and the communities in which it serves -- recognized at this premier event. Since its founding, Allen Matkins has been an active supporter of countless organizations and causes throughout California, and Mike's contributions to the MS Society is a reflection of that culture.
The Dinner of Champions is one of the most highly visible fundraising events in Los Angeles. Each year, the event honors a philanthropist who has made a significant contribution to his or her community, and is heavily supported by the entertainment, legal, financial and healthcare industries. This event has contributed nearly $50 million dollars toward global research initiatives to stop, restore and end MS, along with local programs and services in Southern California and Nevada for people with MS and their families. The goal of the Dinner of Champions is to raise money for direct services for 133,000 touched by MS in the Chapter area; for research into better treatments, and to find a cure.
