On Tuesday, February 4, 2020, Seth Garrett and Jonathan Lorenzen traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to present to professionals at Kidder Mathews. The presentation focused on how commercial real estate brokers and client service specialists can best add value to their clients and internal teams by understanding market-driven commercial lease provisions, as well as preliminary transactional considerations such as assembling the right team, determining the optimal approach to a negotiation and utilizing leverage. Seth and Jonathan also offered “best practices” advice regarding lease administration, such as the importance of cross-referencing letters of intent and calendaring critical dates for clients. As a former commercial real estate broker at CBRE, Seth is uniquely positioned to provide meaningful guidance on such matters. The audience consisted of Kidder Mathews commercial real estate brokers specializing in commercial leasing, both on the agency and occupier sides, as well as client service specialists who directly interface with clients regarding tenant improvements and other lease-related issues.
