LAI San Diego Honors Ernest Rady at 2024 Crystal Globe Award and Installation Gala

The San Diego Chapter of Lambda Alpha International (LAI) announced the installation of 16 new LAI members at its 46th annual Crystal Globe award and installation dinner with Allen Matkins partner, Tim Hutter named as its 2024 LAI San Diego chapter president. The event, held on February 3, recognized Ernest Rady for his achievements in real estate and his philanthropic contributions to the San Diego region. Rady, founder of American Assets, a prominent REIT in the western United States and Hawaii, received the Crystal Globe Award, which recognizes a lifetime body of work contributing to land use, real estate development, and land use economics in San Diego.

“In San Diego, we are fortunate to have an abundance of professionals whose accomplishments are worthy of this award,” said Tim Hutter. “Ernest Rady founded his primary business, American Assets, in 1967, which started with one apartment complex in San Diego and grew to a full-service, vertically integrated REIT focused on premier office, retail, and residential properties in the western United States and Hawaii, with a market capitalization over a billion dollars. Even with all that professional success, around San Diego, Ernest and Evelyn Rady might be better recognized for the Rady Shell, the Rady School of Management at UCSD, or Rady Children’s Hospital, as all have benefitted from the Radys’ tremendous generosity.”
