Allen Matkins Partner Gary McKitterick Receives Hoag Hospital Foundation's Vin Jorgenson Award: President's Circle

IRVINE, Calif. – October 1, 2017 – Allen Matkins, a California-based full service real estate and business law firm, congratulates real estate partner Gary McKitterick for receiving a prestigious Hoag Hospital Foundation's Vin Jorgenson Award, in the President's Circle category, for his outstanding dedication and contributions to Hoag and its various committees, services and expansion projects. Gary and the other 2017 Vin Jorgenson Award honorees were celebrated at Hoag's Donor Appreciation and Awards Dinner on September 19 at the Newport Beach Country Club.

"Hoag is a place where great passion for world-class care is shared by everyone in the organization, from the numerous volunteers, to the support staff, to the amazing nurses and senior executive leadership," said Gary, who practices out of the Irvine office of Allen Matkins. "My wife Carolyn and I feel it's an honor and privilege to be part of the team at Hoag and we are both humbled by this recognition."

In 2001, Gary joined the Real Estate and Facilities Committee of the Board of Directors at Hoag, where he was instrumental in the construction of the Bill & Sue Gross Women's Pavilion and the purchase of properties that became Hoag Health Center Newport Beach on the Mike & Lori Gray Campus and Hoag Hospital Irvine. Gary joined the Board of Directors of Hoag in 2007 where he currently serves on the Executive Committee and served as Chair of the Hoag Board from 2013 to 2016. He has been a member of the Board of Hoag Orthopedic Institute (HOI) since its formation and he is also a current member of the Hoag Promise Campaign Steering Committee. His wife Carolyn, also a committed Hoag volunteer, is currently a member of both the Neurosciences and Hoag Irvine Campaign Advisory Committees.

At Allen Matkins, Gary serves as legal counsel on some of the largest and most complex real estate transactions in the country, handling transactions of all sizes on a national basis representing large technology companies and office, retail, industrial, medical and residential developers and investors in a wide range of projects. He is the former Vice-Chair of Allen Matkins Real Estate Practice Group and has been selected as one of the top real estate lawyers in America by Best Lawyers in America from 2003 to 2017.

Hoag was the highest ranked hospital in Orange County in the 2017-2018& U.S. News & World Report and was ranked the #3 hospital in the Los Angeles Metro Area and the #8 hospital in California. Hoag was also the only Orange County hospital ranked in the top 10 for California. Additionally, Hoag was #25 nationally in Orthopedics, #27 nationally in Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, #46 nationally in Pulmonology and #47 nationally in Geriatrics.
