"Nancy and Sonia have contributed their talents to the real estate industry and the community at large through their work with numerous professional, charitable and civic organizations," said David Osias, managing partner of Allen Matkins. Lundeen was previously selected as one of the Northern California Real Estate Women of Influence in 2009. A partner in the San Francisco office of Allen Matkins, she has a diverse real estate practice, including real estate finance, loan workouts, the purchase and sale of real estate, and commercial leasing. She is being recognized for her work within the last year, which includes serving as lead counsel for the lenders on several real estate financing transactions: a $475 million loan by MetLife and New York Life on Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego; a $38 million loan by New York Life on Fruitdale Station Apartments in San Jose; a loan workout/note purchase in connection with $28 million loan on office building in Berkeley; and a $27 million loan by New York Life on the Bridges Apartments in San Ramon. Ransom, a land use partner in the San Francisco office of Allen Matkins and co-chair of the firm's renowned land use group, is highly regarded for her extensive experience in land use and redevelopment. Her work in land use matters includes developing entitlement strategies and obtaining entitlements for commercial, industrial and residential projects in numerous Southern and Northern California jurisdictions. Recognized for her thoughtful land use counsel and insight into issues, her successes within the last year include serving as the lead land use lawyer representing the ownership of the Snowcreek Resort in the entitlement of its final phase: 790 residential condos, 400 hotel rooms and expansion of the golf course to 18 holes. She is also the lead attorney when her large multifamily REIT client encounters land use issues during due diligence or during the entitlement process. She is currently serving as land use counsel for the property owners and their development partner on the redevelopment of the former Boeing/NASA site in Downey into mixed-use projects in excess of 1.5 million square feet. Her current major projects exceed 3.5 million square feet and involve office, retail, multifamily and resort properties.
Ransom actively participates in the Allen Matkins women's group and provides the leadership for the firm's initiative to recognize the achievements of women in commercial real estate. In 2011, she was recognized as one of 51 Women of Influence in commercial real estate throughout the nation by Real Estate Forum magazine. She was recently interviewed for an Allen Matkins video titled "Protecting and Perfecting Condominium Entitlements in a Down Economy."
