Partner John Condas was quoted in Law360 about a new California law that adds restrictions on warehouse development. The article discusses Assembly Bill (AB) 98, signed by Governor Gavin Newsom, which introduces restrictions on warehouse development near residential areas, schools, and parks. John commented on the legislation's potential impact."It's going to decrease the amount of warehouses built, and I think, really, that's the goal, to stop the development of warehouses." He also noted that the law’s requirements, such as setbacks from "sensitive receptors" and mandates for solar power and electric vehicle infrastructure, would likely push warehouse projects to less urban areas or even out of state to Arizona or Nevada. "You're going to have developments go even further out to try to get bigger pieces of land to avoid sensitive receptors," he said.
