Matthew is a partner in the Orange County office and a member of the litigation practice group. As an accomplished litigator with extensive experience representing clients at both the trial and appellate levels, he has successfully handled high-stakes cases across a range of industries, advocating for clients in state and federal courts. Matthew focuses his practice across a broad spectrum of commercial litigation, including complex class actions, labor and employment matters, commercial litigation, and white collar defense and investigations.
Matthew represents clients in discrimination claims and wage and hour violations under state and federal law, and regularly defends companies in cases alleging misclassification of workers, failure to pay overtime, failure to provide meal and rest breaks, failure to provide accurate wage statements, and failure to reimburse business expenses. He also advises employers with respect to employment-related issues, including revising and updating employment policies as well as negotiating and drafting severance and separation agreements.
Matthew is fluent in Spanish. Prior to joining Allen Matkins, he was a member of the litigation practice group at a prominent AmLaw 100 firm. Matthew clerked for Judge Carol Bagley Amon of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
