Ian Kessler is an owner of Sanuk, an action sports footwear company whose products are distributed in over fifty countries. Mr. Kessler was an early investor in Sanuk and he joined the company on a full time basis during its first full year of operations in 1998. On a day to day basis Mr. Kessler is responsible for international distribution and licensing at Sanuk. Mr. Kessler is also one of four directors responsible for strategic planning and brand supervision over all aspects of the company’s operations. Prior to joining Sanuk Mr. Kessler was a partner with the San Diego office of Baker & McKenzie where he practiced business and intellectual property litigation.
Amit Kumar is the Associate General Counsel & Head of Licensing and Business Transactions at the Taylor Made Golf Company. Mr. Kumar is responsible for managing a wide variety of domestic and international commercial legal issues for TaylorMade. In this regard, Mr. Kumar works with the legal and business teams of TaylorMade and affiliates of its ultimate parent company, adidas AG, on matters such as international litigation, M&A, distribution and license agreements, strategic sales and marketing agreements, supplier and sourcing agreements and employee matters. Mr. Kumar has been with TaylorMade since 2003. Prior to joining TaylorMade, Mr. Kumar practiced as a corporate attorney for four years.
Clark Libenson is a partner in the San Diego office of Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP. From an international perspective, he handles all manner of in-bound investment from the Asia-Pacific region and out-bound investment to Mexico and Latin America. He has a particular emphasis on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, secured financings, equipment leasing, and manufacturing, as well as multi-jurisdictional distribution arrangements. He also services clients' needs in public offerings and private placements of equity and debt, real estate securities, corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, employee equity and compensation arrangements, corporate governance, and board advisory matters.
