LOS ANGELES - June 3, 2010 - Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP, a leading California business and real estate law firm, announces the expansion of its litigation practice group with the addition of Alan D. Hearty, as associate, in the firm's Century City office.
Hearty's practice focuses on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on real estate litigation. He represents owners and developers in litigation regarding the interpretation and enforcement of a variety of real estate contracts, including development agreements and purchase and sale agreements. He also represents commercial real estate owners in connection with easement claims and chain of title issues and major telecommunications companies with respect to network real estate disputes.

Born and raised in Ireland, Hearty maintains strong links with the Irish community in the United States and frequently speaks to Irish companies and government agencies on matters related to the American legal system. His representative experience includes advising an Irish government agency based in Los Angeles.

For nearly six years Hearty practiced at Alston + Bird LLP along with litigation partner Scott Leipzig, who joined Allen Matkins' Century City office in May 2010.
Hearty has substantial first-chair trial experience and is skilled in all areas of litigation in both state and federal court.
Hearty joins Allen Matkins' litigation practice group of approximately 80 attorneys statewide, whose practice is comprehensive and is recognized nationwide for its expertise in handling all aspects of business and commercial, real estate, construction, bankruptcy, environmental and toxic tort, products liability, and labor and employment litigation. The firm's trial lawyers have successfully tried cases in a broad variety of forums including state and federal courts, arbitrations and judicial referees.
Hearty graduated from University College Dublin in 1996 with an honors degree in Business and Law. He was admitted to the New York and California State Bars in 2004.
